This descent of the River Lot starts at the foot of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, one of the most iconic villages in the Lot Valley. The route then heads upstream towards Crégols, a charming village showcasing traditional Quercy rural architecture, with its distinctive four-sided roofs, dovecotes, towers and bolets — covered stone steps sheltered by an awning-style roof supported by stone pillars or wooden posts. The day ends in Bouziès, after following the towpath carved into the rock along the river.

On the second day, the journey continues between steep cliffs carved out by the river, which once provided shelter for the earliest fortified settlements and later became home to numerous castles and small medieval towns. A picnic lunch is planned in Vers, on the banks of the Lot. Beyond Vers, the cliffs give way to the Cévennes, with their dry, rocky slopes and rounded, rugged hillsides once covered in vineyards. Passing through villages, each with its own distinctive character and personality, you will eventually reach Cahors, a city steeped in Gallo-Roman and medieval history.

On the final day, the rowing tour will set off from the rowing club and finish at the foot of the Valentré Bridge, a 700-year-old fortified bridge and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
