Participating in the “Les Pertuis Rochelais” rowing tour is a unique way to discover the Charente maritime coasts and heritage. This 3-leg, 2-day tour is intended for experienced sea rowers in a good physical condition combining endurance and strength. It offers the opportunity to explore a landscape between land and sea, where you will enjoy an exceptional heritage and natural setting that has contributed to the international fame of La Rochelle and its nearby islands.

On the first day, you will row north, passing beneath the Île de Ré Bridge and crossing the Pertuis Breton towards Fort de La Prée, a 17th-century military fort, while also enjoying views of the Abbaye des Châteliers. The morning will end with a gourmet break on the vast beach of Rivedoux on Île de Ré. You will then head towards Les Minimes Marina, passing the Chauveau Lighthouse, built in 1839 and marking the entrance to the Pertuis d’Antioche. The following day, you will pass through La Rochelle’s Old Port, with its iconic medieval towers, before heading south towards Port du Loiron. There, you will discover its colourful fishing huts and traditional carrelets—fishing cabins and nets built out over the water. Along the way, you will leave the Bout du Monde Lighthouse to port, a replica of the Patagonian lighthouse of the same name.

The rowing tour will conclude with a convivial group meal. Accompanying guests will be guided on a cycling tour along the coastal paths, following the rowers’ route and joining them for the refreshment break on Île de Ré and at Port du Loiron. A short detour through the city centre will also allow them to discover La Rochelle’s charming streets and historic buildings, bearing witness to the city’s long-standing maritime trading heritage.
