"Randonnée Les Castors"
The rowing tour starts from Port de l’Épervière, the largest inland marina in France, which is well worth a visit in its own right.
The route offers a variety of rowing conditions: peaceful and picturesque on the Old Rhône, and more lively on the navigable section of the river. The effort is richly rewarded by the festive atmosphere and the renowned hospitality of the people of the Drôme and Ardèche regions, which has become one of the hallmarks of this rowing tour.
For accompanying guests, there is the opportunity to explore Valence’s historic centre, as well as the Château de Crussol on the Ardèche side of the river, a medieval fortress dating back to the 12th century.
Valence is also a city of gastronomy, surrounded by prestigious vineyards producing celebrated wines such as Saint-Péray, Cornas, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage.
It was in this exceptional setting that the 2025 UEC Road European Championships were held in October 2025, showcasing the region’s outstanding landscapes and sporting heritage.
